As of Saturday night, Caps forward TJ Oshie has 13 goals to his name, which even more impressive when you realize he missed 7 games to injury.
A collision with Ottawa’s Dion Phaneuf put Oshie’s season at risk again, but Oshie has powered through.
In the second period, Oshie led a drive through neutral. Phaneuf, all 200 lbs of him, stepped up, shoving his mass into Oshie’s left shoulder.
Oshie smarted from the hit. He skated to the bench for the moment, then promptly escaped down the tunnel.
Ending our quiet panic, Oshie returned a little over three game minutes later to take a shift.
Oshie was first injured on November 18 after colliding with Riley Sheahan. A source told RMNB that Oshie dislocated his left shoulder. He didn’t return to the lineup until December 7.
It looks like he’s escaped that same fate this time, thank goodness.
8:42 Update: Dion Phaneuf just crosschecked TJ Oshie in the lower back. See the GIFs here. Oshie went down the tunnel and is doubtful to return.
