TJ Oshie will return to ESPN as an analyst this season.
Oshie will once again join fellow former NHL players PK Subban, Erik Johnson, Mark Messier, Ray Ferraro, and Kevin Weekes, as well as Olympic gold medalists Cassie Campbell-Pascal and AJ Mleczko, on television.
The sports leader’s PR department announced the news on Tuesday afternoon.
This will be Oshie’s second season as a full-time analyst with the network after working both as an NHL Studio and Game Analyst last season. He first appeared on ESPN during the 2025 Western Conference Finals, serving as a guest analyst. According to ESPN’s release, his analyst role this season is expanded.
ESPN will broadcast 100 exclusive games through the season on ESPN, ESPN+, ABC, Disney+, and HULU. Nine Capitals games will air on ESPN-owned platforms this season, including the team’s final regular-season home game on April 4 against Pittsburgh and its final game of the 2025-26 campaign against the Philadelphia Flyers on April 10, giving Oshie plenty of opportunities to opine about his former team.

Oshie has stayed booked and busy in his post-playing, broadcasting career, also providing coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics with NBC and acting as a member of the Monumental Sports Network broadcast team last season.
Oshie officially hung up his skates in June 2025 after back issues forced an end to his 16-season, 1,010-game career.
Oshie’s second season with ESPN comes after he was announced as part of the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026 on September 10.
