Sup, fam. Tonight we get to watch the Caps take on the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers are sitting at an even .500 and, like us, are coming off from an OT victory. Panthers goalie, Roberto Luongo will start in net while the team tries to get back on a winning path. One of the players to keep an eye on will be the Panthers’ free agency pick-up Jonathan Marchessault who currently leads the team with six goals and six assists. My scorching take for the evening is that we should keep trying to extend our streak and try really hard to win the game but NOT by giving up 3 goals and winning in OT.
We begin at 7:00 PM on CSN. Let’s hang.
| Team | Record | Possession | PDO | Power Play | Penalty Kill |
| Florida Panthers | 5-5-1 | 53.74% | 99.8 | 16.3% | 77.4% |
| Washington Capitals | 7-2-1 | 54.87% | 101.2 | 16.1% | 82.8% |
Projected Lines
This morning the Caps held an optional morning skate. According to Isabelle Khurshudyan, Daniel Winnik will return to the lineup after being benched for four straight games while Taylor Chorney remains out. This is our best guess on the lines. You never know when a #FirstLineWilson will strike.
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Williams
Johansson – Kuznetsov – Wilson
Burakovsky – Eller – Oshie
Sanford – Beagle – Winnik
Alzner – Niskanen
Orlov – Carlson
Orpik – Schmidt
Holtby
Hmmm, interesting
Only one player has more career OT goals than @ovi8 (18).
His name is Jaromir Jagr (19). pic.twitter.com/XSHTnOGjli

If you’re headed to the game…
Tonight is Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night. DO NOT FORGET to bring new hats to section 115! The hats will go to support Ellies Hats, which is a group that brings hats to children battling cancer. They work to raise awareness of childhood cancer and they also support Inova Childrens Hospital. Make a kid happy and do some good, y’all. Cancer sucks, so let’s be nice to each other.
If you’re headed to the Caps game tomorrow please bring hats for children with cancer! @ElliesHats #SupportPediatricCancer #CapsFightCancer pic.twitter.com/wVYBc4AuS6

- Check out the skin of his Xbox controller.
- The Washington Capitals aren’t always that great at keeping a lead.
- My ovaries exploded watching Nate Schmidt play with the wish kids.
- The Hershey Bears are still lookin’ fly with that OT victory against the Thunderbirds.

Today’s Trending Topic
This morning I grabbed my cup of coffee and checked twitter to find that the number one trending topic was #DonutsAreBetterThanPeople. I’m still unsure about the correct spelling of donut (doughnut?) but it prompted me to let you all know that this is a fact. Donuts are great and I thought I would give everyone a chance to voice their opinion on where they think the best donut is (mainly as a reference for me).
The apartment I’m leaving is located near the new Arlington location of Sugar Shack and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t change my life. Thoughts?
