Wednesday morning, TSN’s Bob McKenzie posted his annual coaches poll, where NHL bench bosses anonymously vote for who they think is coach of the year. Washington Capitals head coach Barry Trotz won in a landslide.
According to McKenzie, Trotz was first on 18 of the 27 ballots. Coaches were asked to provide their top three choices and Trotz’s name appeared on 24 of 27 ballots. I guess three coaches were skeptical of #FirstLineBeagle.
Other notables include Florida Panther head coach Gerard Gallant who was voted runner-up. Former Caps coach Bruce Boudreau finished fourth.
