The Caps visit the Kings tonight in a match-up that is sure to be billed as a potential Cup finals preview. The Caps have understandably not seemed as sharp or up for games recently. Tonight is a game they’ll need to be up for or they’ll likely get blown out of the building. Justin Williams and Mike Richards are returning to their old stomping ground. Here’s hoping they both pot a goal and the good guys emerge victorious.
The Caps come at the Kings at 10:30pm on CSN. They best not miss.
| Team | Record | Possession | PDO | Power Play | Penalty Kill |
| Washington Capitals | 49-13-4 | 51.4% | 101.7 | 23.2% (3rd) | 84.7% (4th) |
| Los Angeles Kings | 39-22-4 | 56.7% | 99.3 | 22.2% (5th) | 81.1% (15th) |
Projected Lineup
The Caps haven’t skated as of the time that I needed to submit this, but they probably will have by the time you read this. Here’s a guess on the lines:
Ovechkin – Backstrom – Oshie
Burakovsky – Kuznetsov – Williams
Chimera – Johansson – Wilson
Winnik – Richards – Beagle
Alzner – Niskanen
Orpik – Orlov
Weber – Schmidt
Holtby
[Editor’s note: Pat was almost right. Chorney’s in for Schmidt, who’s a healthy scratch, per Isabelle.]
Food Opinions
During some recent pregames, Peter has included some food opinions which some of you have had strong opinions about. I feel like I’d be letting the entire RMNB community down if I don’t bring up a food opinion for us to argue about in the comments. Today, we talk pizza toppings.
The greatness of pizza isn’t up for debate here, obviously. What is up for debate is the toppings you prefer. There are a lot of great combos that you can put on a pizza, so I’m not going to go with rankings or a 100% firm take here, but instead just lay out a few guidelines.
- Chicken or pepperoni are the two best meat toppings. Bacon and Canadian bacon are inferior but still acceptable.
- Banana peppers and pineapple are the two best non-meat toppings.
- A chicken/pepperoni and banana pepper/pineapple combo is always a win.
- Green pepper people: I respect you and would eat pizza with you.
- Mushroom people: I respect you and would eat pizza with you if I’m in a bind, but you’re not my first choice.
- Onion people: I see you, I respect you, and I’ve been one of you. I hop aboard your train still from time to time, but I prefer other locomotives at this time.
- Do not insult me with suggestions of broccoli or black olives on pizza. No pizza will ever be our pizza if this is the road you go down.
Hit me with your pizza takes in the comments.

The Important Questions
I ran a very important, very meaningful poll on Twitter the other day and wanted to share the results with you. Please feel free to share your vote in the comments.
Also, 309 votes but a 50-50 split means one of these options won 155-154. Is Hungry Eyes highlighted because it won? Or is the first options always the winner in the event of a percentage tie?

Amanda Takes Great Photos
Amanda does a lot of photos for us ’round here and, even though the one below was in her most recent post, I wanted to highlight it here for no other reason than I think it’s worth highlighting.
