Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik underwent surgery on his wrist today, according to a team release. The announcement didn’t specify which of Orpik’s wrists needed work or why, but the Caps called the procedure “successful” and said they “anticipate Brooks returning to full hockey activities in time for the Capitals regular season opener” on October 10.
Orpik joins Caps forward Nicklas Backstrom and newly-former Caps forward Eric Fehr, now officially a Pittsburgh Penguin (yuck), in the offseason surgery club.
ARLINGTON, VA. – Brooks Orpik underwent a successful surgery on his wrist this morning. Based on the nature of this procedure, we anticipate Brooks returning to full hockey activities in time for the Capitals regular season opener.
