Sunday afternoon in Columbus, Alex Ovechkin played in his fifth career All-Star Game. He had his eyes on one goal: winning the car that eluded him at Friday night’s All-Star Fantasy Draft.
Before the game began, Ovechkin found the 2015 Honda Accord that the MVP of the game would receive out in the parking lot. An obsessed Ovi wrote on Instagram, “I still need it!! I will pick u up after all star game ))))haha”

There was more to Ovi’s day than a silly car however. He posed for a few silly pictures in the locker room.

And did some marketing.

Then the actual game happened. It was kind of boring. Late in the first period, Ovechkin registered his first point, an assist, on a Ryan Johansen goal. The pass was unselfish and sick)))))).
In the second period, Ovechkin registered a secondary assist on a Nick Foligno goal.
Later, things got a little chippy after Johansen took an extra whack at Corey Crawford. Crawford’s real life Blackhawks’ teammate Toews gave him the what-for and a friendly hockey scrum began.

Watch Ovechkin zoom into the picture.
That was great.
Darryl Sutter’s son Chris, who has Down Syndrome, coached Ovechkin up during the third period.

In the final 120 seconds, Ovechkin tallied his third assist on a Brent Burns goal.
And that concludes your Ovechkin highlights for the day.
Team Toews defeated Team Foligno 17-12. Ovechkin finished with three points. He now has five goals and six assists in five career All-Star Games. This was Ovechkin’s franchise-record sixth selection (2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2014-15).
