Evgeny Kuznetsov had one of those Kuzy goals Saturday night that makes you perspire. His second goal against Edmonton was so dirrty that I immediately went upstairs and showered.
Kuznetsov scored the game-winning goal to put the Caps up 3-2, but it was his second tally of the night that we need to relive forever and forever.
When Braden Holtby’s shutout streak ended at a nice total of 169 minutes, the Capitals suddenly found themselves in a tie game.
“Don’t worry,” Evgeny Kuznetsov probably said, “I’ve got this.”
“But Kuzy,” Brooks Orpik probably said, “you never score anymore.”
Then Kuznetsov spit into the ice, grinned, and said, “watch this.”
So watch this.
Caps prospect Shane Gersich just scored the most brilliant goal of his young career.
The 20-year-old sophomore earned an extra point for the No. 6 ranked University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks men’s hockey team after blacking out and scoring a brilliant spin-o-rama goal in three-on-three overtime.
Gersich was drafted by the Capitals in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Evgeny Kuznetsov has become, in the words of Craig Laughlin, a human highlight reel. One period after he needled a pass through four sticks for a Burakovsky’s goal, Kuznetsov scored on the power play in an equally impressive manner.
On Wednesday, the Hershey Bears opened their preseason by playing the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the brand new PPL Center. The result of the actual game however is secondary to the sick goal Russian prospect Stan Galiev scored.
Galiev does a 360, passes the puck to himself, goes through two defenders, and then snipes the puck to the top right corner of the net.
Just look at this!
