Colorado Avalanche’s Quebec Nordiques-inspired sweater is the top-selling Reverse Retro jersey in the NHL

Adrian Dater of Colorado Hockey Now is reporting that the Avalanche’s Reverse Retro jersey is the most purchased Reverse Retro sweater in the NHL. According to Dater, the number of jerseys ordered is well into the thousands, and sales are “through the roof.”

The Colorado Avalanche was one of a handful of teams that opened up preorders the day of the Reverse Retro release. The team is selling jerseys through their online store Altitude Athletics.

Central Division teams share preview images of their NHL Reverse Retro jerseys

The NHL’s seven Central Division teams shared preview images of their upcoming Reverse Retro jerseys on Saturday. The release follows the Metropolitan Division ond Pacific Division doings so in the days prior.

The photos confirm that the Colorado Avalanche will rock Quebec Nordiques jerseys for the first time in franchise history while the Minnesota Wild seem poised to honor the Minnesota North Stars in theirs. The detail shots of the new sweaters comes after the NHL and Adidas released an animated video showing which year each jersey was inspired by last week.

Nathan MacKinnon shows off new Quebec Nordiques colored gloves

The NHL reported in May that the Colorado Avalanche were considering wearing Quebec Nordiques jerseys during the 2020-21 season to celebrate the team’s 25th anniversary.

Now Nathan MacKinnon might have let the cat out of the bag.
