NHL players vote Tom Wilson the second dirtiest player in the league: ‘He does some stupid sh*t’

The Athletic polled 392 players across the NHL to answer 11 of their most urgent questions. Several prominent Capitals ended up on the list.

Alex Ovechkin was voted the person players would most like want to have a beer with while Nicklas Backstrom was named the third-most underrated player.

Perhaps the biggest news of the poll was that the Capitals had two of the top four dirtiest players in the league.

In anonymous poll, NHL players say Capitals have worst visiting locker room: ‘Washington’s showers are so bad. They’re like a prison shower.’

ESPN’s Emily Kaplan polled 50 NHL players about some of the most pressing issues in the game. Kaplan asked about recreational drug use, Gritty’s popularity, and the worst place to play (Winnipeg, it’s always Winnipeg).

The Washington Capitals made the list for something you would never, ever expect.

NHL poll: A majority of fans think the Caps will have fewer standings points this season

The Washington Capitals may have won it all last season, but NHL fans believe Alex Ovechkin and his teammates are due for a Stanley Cup hangover.

In a poll released by the NHL on Tuesday, 65% of voters believe the Caps will tally less than the 105 standing points they earned last season. Washington won their third straight division title en route to the franchise’s first championship.

NBCSN ran a poll asking fans who would win a championship first between Alex Smith or Alex Ovechkin

The Washington Capitals played the Philadelphia Flyers on national television, Wednesday night. During NBCSN’s pregame coverage which featured a roundtable of Liam McHugh, Mike Milbury, and Keith Jones, the network presented a poll playing off the recent Alex Smith trade by the Washington Redskins.

NBC Sports asked its viewers simply Which Alex will win a championship first: Alex Ovechkin or Alex Smith?

Poll: Which Local Baseball Team Do You Root For?

Today, the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals completed their battle of the beltway series, with the Nats winning the rubber match 3-2. During the game, the Washington Post’s Scott Allen tweeted a photo of a “Go Caps” sign which I retweeted on the RMNB account. Apparently it was a Caps Fan Club outing today at Camden Yards.

It made me wonder, as a Caps fan which baseball team do you root for? Vote below, let’s test a hypothesis.

Will Alex Ovechkin Rally Down The Stretch?

Coming into this season, I referenced PDO and why it would be responsible for the Caps’ offensive woes this season. The good news is that the pendulum swings the other way too, so while this season has been quite a disappointment — even more so than I thought it might be — I think the final stretch may progress to the mean.
