The Washington Nationals invited Joe Biden to throw out the ceremonial first pitch on Opening Day in 2021.
The Nats made the ask while Biden conducted his first speech as president-elect Saturday night.

Due to a typographical error or whatever, we recently discovered that we have mistakenly been selling a shirt that says Pennsylvania is the worst state ever for the last five years.
Obviously, this is untrue. In light of this sudden discovery of our regrettable, we at RMNB formally kind of apologize. We have removed the shirt, destroyed all our inventory in a big-ass fire, and sent cease-and-desist letters to everyone who ever bought one.

Joe Biden was elected the 46th President of the United States on Saturday after Pennsylvania pushed the Scranton native over the 270 electoral college votes needed for victory. While Biden and 45 have almost nothing in common, there is something sports-related that they do: they both root for Metropolitan Division rivals of the Washington Capitals.
Joe, and especially incoming First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, are big fans of hockey and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Biden is considered the first Flyers fan in presidential history.

A large majority of America has had their eyes glued to the TVs since Election Day. Three days after the polls closed on Tuesday night, the winner of the Presidental Election has not been determined as several states are still too close to call.
At this point, Democratic nominee Joe Biden has accumulated 253 electoral votes, leaving him 17 votes shy of the 270 needed to win the election. Friday morning, however, there was a major development in Pennsylvania that puts the Scranton, PA native on the verge of the presidency.
After trailing President Donald Trump by 548k votes on Election Night, Biden made a comeback after collecting hundreds of thousands of mail-in votes were counted mostly from left-leaning Philadelphia. The city has voted for Vice President Biden over President Trump 80 to 20 percent.
Biden officially took the lead early this morning in the vote count, turning Pennsylvania blue. Left-leaning Pennsylvanian sports fans took to Twitter and used famous hockey figures from the state to celebrate.
Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden was in attendance for the Caps-Flyers rivalry night game. Biden was first spotted by @TheOrangeNBlack on Twitter.
Biden did not sit in a suite. The popular VP was sitting in the lower bowl just a few rows back from the glass.
