Capitals to host annual Hockey N’ Heels event on January 14, tickets go on sale December 12

Tuesday morning the Capitals announced that they will once again be hosting their annual “Hockey n’Heels” event at Medstar Capitals Iceplex on Tuesday, January 14, from 6-9:30 pm.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, December 12 at 10 am. Fans interested in purchasing tickets must sign up for Scarlet Caps, a team-run fan-club for female Caps fans at washingtoncaps.com/ScarletCaps. Sign-up for Scarlet Caps is free, but tickets for Hockey n’Heels will be $80 ($70 for season ticket holders). A link to purchase tickets will be sent via email to Scarlet Caps members. There is a limit of 4 tickets per member.

Girls night out: Caps host annual Hockey ‘N Heels event (Photos)

The Washington Capitals’ Scarlet Caps group hosted their annual Hockey ‘N Heels event Thursday evening at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Each rink at KCI was transformed into three stations: broomball, face-off practice, and goaltending lessons. Nate Schmidt and Daniel Winnik handled broomball on the Capitals Rink while Brett Connolly, Craig Laughlin and Craig’s daughter Courtney joined the games on the Arlington Rink. Philipp Grubauer, Mitch Korn, and Brent Johnson showed the Scarlet members the ways of a netminder. Hockey Hall of Famer Rod Langway and a few other volunteers acted as refs to drop the puck for face-offs.

After the on-ice sessions, the fans were treated to three different chats with Chef Robert Wood, Head Coach Barry Trotz (emceed by NBC4’s Amelia Draper), and alumni Johnson, Laughlin, and Langway.

Capitals to host Hockey N’ Heels Night on January 12

Monday morning the Capitals announced that this year they will be hosting their annual “Hockey N’ Heels” night on Thursday January 12 at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. The event is open to members of the “Caps Scarlet” fan club, and includes instructional sessions and chances to meet with select player and coaching staff.

Several Caps players and coaches will be leading the drills and presentations including Brett Connolly, Philipp Grubauer, Daniel Winnik, Nate Schmidt, Goaltending Coach Mitch Korn, and Head Coach Barry Trotz.
