The Washington Capitals released the latest iteration of their cherry blossom specialty jersey as peak bloom is set to arrive in the next few weeks.
This year’s jersey design was once again created by local DC artist Taylor Kampa Olson of TKO Paintings. The black sweater features a cherry-blossom-themed Capitol Dome logo on the crest, with light pink and blue accents.

The full team set of the Cherry Blossom specialty jerseys will be autographed by Capitals players will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting MSE Foundation. The auction opens on March 18 at noon and runs through 3 pm on March 27. Capitals-branded Cherry Blossom pucks will also be signed by players and put up for auction, as well as a Tom Wilson painting by TKO, signed by Wilson.
Fans who purchase special tickets to the team’s Cherry Blossom Night game against the Ottawa Senators on March 18 will receive a Capitals-branded Cherry Blossom tumbler.

The National Park Service announced that this year’s peak bloom is expected to take place between March 29 and April 1.
