While the Ovechkin family has spent much of the offseason in Russia, Nastya Ovechkina went to Kazakhstan last week to see a music icon.
Ovechkina traveled with friend and Russian producer Yana Rudkovskaya to see Jennifer Lopez in concert, meeting the singer on Friday night. The pair attended Lopez’s show in Astana, with Ovechkina later documenting the night on Instagram.
“Amazing concert and incredible @jlo 😍,” Ovechkina wrote, per Google Translate. “Thank you, dear @rudkovskayaofficial for the invitation!”
Lopez played in Kazakhstan as part of the Up All Night tour, her first since 2019. She is set to begin a Vegas residency this winter.
Though Alex Ovechkin appears not to have gone to the show, he recently spent time with one of Rudkovskaya’s athletes. Retired figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, whom Ovechkin met with this weekend, will skate in a show for Rudkovskaya and her husband, Evgeni Plushenko’s Angels of Plushenko Academy, in November.
While big trips are hard to pull off during the hockey season, Alex and Nastya have seen several other pop artists when they come to DC, including an Elton John show at Nationals Park and a Lady Gaga concert at Capital One Arena.
The Ovechkins took a longer beach vacation in Turkey to kick off their offseason in June, where the goal-scoring GOAT came face-to-face with some actual goats.
