It is a moment that will live forever in the hearts of Capitals fans: Alex Ovechkin raising the Stanley Cup above his head for the first time, his exuberance and joy plain for everyone to see.
Now, that moment is immortalized through art, specifically a large oil painting on display at Randy’s Prime Seafood and Steaks, a new restaurant opening in the Tysons Corner area this week.

Just look at that smile.
NBC Sports Washington’s Joe Beninati visited the restaurant ahead of its grand opening and got to see the painting in person. The Capitals play-by-play announcer said the restaurant hopes Ovechkin pays a visit to Randy’s soon.
Good morning Machine, the restaurant is on Leesburg Pike, in Vienna. I think their opening night is tomorrow! I saw this painting last week (took a behind-the-scenes tour) and wish I could remember the artist's name. They can't wait for #8 to visit!! The place looks great!

The painting is by artist John Gable, who is based in Maine but has painted murals for DC restaurants in the past.
Photos from the soft-opening also revealed this interesting piece, perhaps by the same artist, which depicts two other famous DC figures.

Randy’s Prime Seafood & Steaks is the newest offering from the Great American Restaurants group, the same ownership behind Mike’s American, Coastal Flats, Sweetwater Tavern, and Silverado. The new restaurant officially opens its doors on Tuesday, July 30. See you there?
