Your Washington Capitals are back from their holiday break and have a home meeting with their division foe, the Carolina Hurricanes. The Caps took down the Canes only two short weeks ago when Jakub Vrana sealed the deal with his first career shootout success.
They’ll be dropping the biscuit at 7 PM tonight and you can get your hockey fill on NBCSWA. As always, you can get all of that coverage of tonight’s match on any of your streaming devices! Peter has your recap, he’s a legend.

Insta freakout
As you may have heard, Instagram “accidentally” rolled out an update that turned your feed interface into a horizontal swiping mess much akin to dating apps like Tinder and Bumble. It was horrible and they reverted the update only minutes later after intense uproar on other social media platforms. Now can we get chronological posts…?

Storylines
- The four NHL divisions have their captains for this year’s all star festivities. To the surprise of no one, Alex Ovechkin is the Metro’s captain and he will be joined by Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid, and Nathan MacKinnon.
- Ovi on figurative and literal hangovers.
- Former Caps defenseman, Karl Alzner has returned to the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens after getting recalled from the AHL where he spent ten games.
- Nicklas Backstrom and fiancée Liza tried to surprise each other with the same gift, a family portrait.
- Speaking of giving, the Caps got in the holiday spirit with their Christmas card video and their 12 days of Christmas, Stanley Cup remix.
- The Caps did a whole lot of dancing during their Christmas break, starting right after their final game and continuing on at parties during the break.
Chris’ Favorite Television Show of 2018
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is a show within the Marvel Cinematic Universe that has been running since 2013 and the events of the show are intertwined with the events that take place within the films under the same brand. I only recently delved fully into the show after prodding from my brothers and it did not disappoint. The writing starts off a bit slow, but the show really takes off and gets better season after season. The fifth season finished airing last May (debuted on Netflix in June) and the show is already scheduled to return with its sixth and seventh seasons.
The adventures of the agents of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division and their many allies and enemies can be easily followed within Netflix’s library. You won’t regret it, especially if you’re already a huge Marvel fan like I was prior to watching. I suggest following along with this timeline if you’re already an experienced MCU watcher or don’t care about spoilers to get a feel of what the world around the show is like!
