Tumblr recently announced that it would be banning all adult content on December 17. In preparation for the ban, the popular blogging website set up an algorithm to flag offensive content and warn users what would and would not be considered acceptable once the new ban was in place.

Tumblr’s definition of what will no longer be acceptable “primarily includes photos, videos, or GIFs that show real-life human genitals or female-presenting nipples, and any content—including photos, videos, GIFs and illustrations—that depicts sex acts.”
The algorithm’s findings were just a little bit off, causing harmless and safe for work images to be flagged as “adult content,” including this celebratory hockey hug.
