Caps prospect Zach Sanford scored twice in ninth-ranked Boston College’s 4-2 victory over 17th-ranked University of Vermont in their first game of the Hockey East playoffs.
Follow under the jump to see both of Sanford’s tallies, including one that could very well be goal of the year among Caps prospects.
Sanford, who plays on a line with Wild’s prospects Alex Tuch and Adam Gilmour scored BC’s second goal of the game going hard to the net off the won faceoff.
Just two minutes later, Sanford scored again, this time on a beautiful dangle around the goalie on a breakaway showing extremely soft hands for a guy who stands at six-foot-four. Wow.
After getting drafted by Washington 61st overall in 2013, Sanford spent a season with Waterloo of the USHL before going to Boston College.
BC and Vermont will square off in a game two of the best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series tonight.
