Mike Green Gets Leveled Behind Detroit’s Net By Josh Jooris, Leaves Game With Injury

Poor Mike Green has been injured again. This time after some apparent bad blood between Detroit and Calgary.

The former Caps defenseman was hurt after being teed up by Flames center Josh Jooris behind the Wings’ net.

Jooris wasn’t penalized, in spite of clearly leaving his feet. Green left the game after his shift and did not return for the second period. The Red Wings announced he was doubtful to return with an upper body injury.

A few minutes after the play, the Flames’ Jiri Hulder and the Wings’ Landon Ferraro fought. A minute after the fight, two more guys were booked for roughing, and the period ended with a cross-checking penalty assessed against Calgary.

Here’s hoping Green makes a quick recovery.
