Red Wings Danny DeKeyser surprises biggest fan for her fifth birthday (Video)

Despite a lackluster season so far, the Detroit Red Wings are still finding ways to make the world a better place. Detroit native and Red Wings defenseman Danny DeKeyser took some time on Tuesday to surprise his biggest (and smallest) fan for her birthday on Wednesday.

Little Lucy gets so excited that she giddily wheels herself over to her mom after first being introduced to DeKeyser. Lucy is unable to contain her excitement at being face-to-face with her favorite player. After some prompting from her mom to talk to DeKeyser again, Lucy adorably tells him, “I’m your biggest fan.”

Watching NHL players give back to their fans is one of the best things about hockey. What a precious moment.
