Original story: We’ve got some breaking news to report. Alex Ovechkin just scored another goal from his office. And surprise, surprise, it was on Henrik Lundqvist.

Here’s how it went down. Ovechkin took a beautiful, cross-ice, backhanded pass from Evgeny Kuznetsov in the left circle. Then, as if he was stuck in a video-game glitch from NHL17, Ovechkin started rapid-fire deking in place.
Eventually, Ovechkin fired a low wrist-shot that deflected over Henrik Lundqvist’s pads.
Ovechkin leads the league in power-play goals with 18. The PPG, the 213th of his career, pushed the Russian machine past Keith Tkachuk for 13th place all-time.
He now has 34 goals on the season, nine behind league leader Sidney Crosby (43).
Ovechkin has scored a goal in 12 of his last 14 games against New York. Ovechkin’s 23 career goals against Henrik Lundqvist marks the most goals he has scored versus a goalie in his career.
