Nate Schmidt is still playing in his old Capitals gear

In June, the Washington Capitals lost defenseman Nate Schmidt in the expansion draft. Schmidt was slated to be one of the team’s top-four dmen next season. Instead he will ply his trade in Las Vegas as an inaugural member of the Vegas Golden Knights.

Over the past week, Schmidt has been participating in Da Beauty League, a summer hockey league in his native Minnesota. And you guys, check out what he’s wearing.

Schmidt is wearing his number 88 Caps helmet and gloves.
