The Washington Capitals will wrap up their 2026 preseason schedule with one final game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night.
After dressing what was essentially their Opening Night roster in a win over the Boston Bruins on Friday, the Capitals have announced they will be bringing a prospect-laden lineup to Philadelphia. Ethen Frank will be the lone player to participate in both games, with Charlie Lindgren set to start in net.
Three of the team’s most recent first-round picks, Lynden Lakovic, Terik Parascak, and Ivan Miroshnichenko, will also get jerseys from head coach Spencer Carbery.

Four of the players on the roster, Tyler Kopff, Petr Sikora, Alex Suzdalev, and Jon McDonald, were recalled from the AHL’s Hershey Bears hours ahead of puck drop to help fill out the lineup. All four will play in the game and will likely be returned to Hershey immediately as the Bears continue their preseason.
After Logan Thompson started and finished Friday’s game against Boston, the Capitals will give the same duties to Charlie Lindgren in Philadelphia. Former Flyers goaltender Cal Petersen, who is at Caps camp on a professional tryout agreement, will back Lindgren up.
Frank and Miroshnichenko will be the lone bubble players in the lineup against the Flyers, with Jonny Brodzinski unable to dress for a third preseason contest due to having more than 100 games of NHL experience under his belt. Brodzinski stayed back and skated with the non-gameday group, which also included captain Alex Ovechkin, who will not play in any preseason games this year due to a lower-body injury.
The Flyers are treating their preseason finale like an Opening Night dress rehearsal, so most of their expected NHL roster is slated to play on Saturday.
