The Washington Capitals saw a bigger group of players take the ice for an informal skate on Thursday morning.

According to Monumental Sports Network’s Tarik El-Bashir, five of the team’s regulars skated at MedStar Capitals Iceplex together, including Pierre-Luc Dubois, Martin Fehervary, Matt Roy, Logan Thompson, and Alex Tuch. They were joined by 2025 first-round pick Lynden Lakovic, who is expected to play in Hershey this season.

Another participant was Patrick Giles, a 26-year-old forward for the San Jose Sharks, who grew up in Chevy Chase, MD.

Tuch first skated at MCI on July 31, five weeks after the team acquired the scoring winger from the Buffalo Sabres in a sign-and-trade.

Dubois, Roy, and Thompson are all going into their third seasons as major contributors with the Capitals, while Fehervary will get even more responsibility this season with John Carlson gone on the backend.

Capitals training camp is about a month away, with the team’s first preseason game set for Sunday, September 20 against the Boston Bruins.

The Capitals’ first game of the regular season is on October 2 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
