The Washington Capitals will be without Pierre-Luc Dubois for a fourth straight game on Tuesday night.
Dubois, who suffered a lower-body injury against the New York Rangers on October 12, was present at the team’s practice on Monday morning but again only skated in a light blue, no-contact jersey. Head coach Spencer Carbery then ruled the top-six centerman out of the Capitals’ game against the Seattle Kraken when asked if Dubois was on track to getting back in a regular sweater this week.
“We’ll see,” Carbery said. “I haven’t spoken to the trainers yet, but won’t play tomorrow and then we’ll see where it goes from there. Have a few days in between after Seattle, so that at least gives us a few more days for the potential for him to get back into a regular jersey.”
The Capitals will play the Kraken on Tuesday, have a planned full day off on Wednesday, will practice and travel to Columbus on Thursday, and then play the Blue Jackets on the road on Friday night.
Dubois has yet to record a point in the three games he has played in this season, averaging 17:22 of ice time. In his stead, Connor McMichael has played center on the team’s second line for the past three games.
In a full 82-game season last year, Dubois recorded a career-best 66 points (20g, 46a). Before this season’s injury, he hadn’t missed a game since the 2022-23 campaign.
