The Washington Capitals are hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night at Capital One Arena. The matchup is the last between the two teams during the 2024-25 regular season.
Alex Ovechkin will be looking to make it two games in a row with a goal as he inches closer and closer to toppling Wayne Gretzky for the NHL’s all-time goals record. Coming into tonight’s game, Ovechkin is currently at 887 career goals — 8 away from the record.
Logan Thompson will get a second start in a row for the Capitals after head coach Spencer Carbery announced the end of his strict, alternating goalie strategy.
Puck drop for Caps-Red Wings is set for 7 pm on Monumental Sports Network. Joe Beninati and Alan May have the call.
