Ryan Leonard extended his goal streak to five games on Friday night, potting an empty netter in no. 1 ranked Boston College’s 4-1 win over unranked New Hampshire. Leonard’s goal pushes his season total to 43 points (28g, 15a) in 32 games. He leads the NCAA in goals by five over Michigan State’s Isaac Howard.
The 20-year-old winger got on the board with 2:37 remaining in regulation. Leonard sent the puck into the yawning cage from the neutral zone to seal BC’s victory.

Eagles head coach Greg Brown reunited Leonard with James Hagens and Gabe Perreault on the team’s top line in the game. The three forwards had combined on a line earlier in the year and stayed together for Team USA throughout the 2025 World Juniors.
The top line combined for four points (1g, 3a) in Friday night’s win. Boston Bruins prospect Andre Gasseau scored two goals before being ejected for slewfooting.

The game also saw a scary injury occur to New Hampshire netminder Jared Whale. With 4:51 left in the second period, Whale was bowled over by one of his teammates and stayed down on the ice, not moving.
The 22-year-old goaltender was stretchered off the ice and taken to a local hospital.
Oh no.
UNH goaltender Jared Whale is laying flat on the ice with his limbs extended for some time now. It’s been about three minutes.

Boston College will take the ice for a rematch with New Hampshire on Saturday night before wrapping up their regular season against Merrimack on March 8. They’ll then enter Hockey East conference tournament play before inevitably making their way to the 2025 NCAA tournament.
