Thirteen days after being walloped 3-0 by the Winnipeg Jets north of the border, the Washington Capitals will rematch this fast-skating, quick-strike Jets team at Capital One Arena. They will also celebrate one of their own veteran players.
TJ Oshie will be honored in a pregame ceremony for recently playing his 1,000th NHL game. Every Capitals player will rock number 77 jerseys during warmups — with the team auctioning the sweaters off to help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation.
After netting two badly-needed points in an absurd 7-6 shootout victory over the Carolina Hurricanes, the Capitals will need another big performance to stay in the wild card race. Charlie Lindgren will be back in net. Oshie and Aliaksei Protas will both play.
Today’s game is airing on Monumental Sports Network. Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin will have the call. Puck drop is a little after 12:30 pm.

Per @MonSportsNet, the youngest player to assist on an Alex Ovechkin goal was Andre Burakovsky.
Burky was 19 years and 245 days old when he did so in a January 20, 2015 game against the Edmonton Oilers.
What an awesome trivia question.
