Michael Bublé is a part of the 2024 NHL All-Star Game festivities and Thursday he made his first appearance in Toronto.
The superstar musician was tabbed to be the celebrity co-captain of Team Hughes and participated in the All-Star Game Player Draft.
While Bublé was very entertaining out on the Scotiabank Arena ice, he saved his true magic for the press conference afterward with actor Will Arnett.
It was then Bublé said the following to the press: “My buddy told me, this is just a microdose of mushrooms and he was lying.”
Here is a sampling of Bublé’s best comments via a reel from Bardown:
Michael Bublé: And the answer is no. I will not be the oldest draft pick the Vancouver Canucks have ever taken at 48-years-old.
…
Michael Bublé: I know you, and you.
…
Michael Bublé to Jesse Pollock: You’re a really good hockey player. You’ve got good hands. You’ve got silky mitts my my brother.
Jesse Pollock: You are the first person who has ever told me that.
Michael Bublé: Because I am the first real ever hockey fan, dude.
…
Michael Bublé: My buddy told me, this is just a microdose of mushrooms and he WAS lying. So, I’ll be honest, I thought I was in ‘Blades of Glory’ for most of the time that I was out there, until it sort of settled down and then I realized, ‘Holy shit I am in the NHL All-Star Game.’
…
Michael Bublé: We literally are the heart-and-soul of these teams. And if they win, it’ll be bacause of us. And if they lose, it will be because of us.
…
Michael Bublé: All of my texts it was people… ‘Congratulations.’ ‘Congratulations on being chosen to go to the All-Star Game.’ And I was like, ‘Congratulations?? I am a superstar!’

Afterwards, Steve Dangle ran into Your Mom’s Favorite Singer at dinner and Bublé clarified his comments from before.
Reporting live on @MichaelBuble: Was he actually on shrooms. Answer: No, but he loves bread. @sdpnsports pic.twitter.com/O1d4hiU1Q0

Steve Dangle: This is a very hot topic in hockey right now. Steve Dangle with SDPN Sports. The controversy is: ‘Is Michael Bublé or was Michael Bublé on mushrooms while on stage?’
Michael Bublé: It was a joke. Of course I wasn’t! I’m sitting here at dinner. I do have a problem with bread. When I get anxious, I can’t stop eating it. But no, not mushrooms.
Steve Dangle: You think this is helping your case or hurting your case?
[Bublé shrugs]
Mystery solved. OR IS IT?
No matter the answer, thank you Michael Bublé for being the most entertaining thing about Day 1 of All-Star weekend. We are forever grateful.
