The Washington Capitals will host the first day of their annual Development Camp at MedStar Capitals Iceplex on Saturday. After releasing the schedule for the camp earlier this week, the Caps have now revealed the full roster of attendees.
All six of the Caps’ selections from the 2023 draft will be in attendance, including top selections Ryan Leonard and Andrew Cristall. However, none of the players that factored into the Hershey Bears’ long run to a Calder Cup championship will join them.
2022 first-round pick Ivan Miroshnichenko, who showed up to DC early, will make his on-ice debut at a development camp after having to sit out most of the activities last year due to his recovery from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
The defense corps will be led by second-time attendee, Ryan Chesley, who was the team’s 2022 second-round pick. In goal, recent Harvard grad Mitchell Gibson will be participating in his fourth camp, the most of anyone on the roster.
Eight spots in the 30-man group will be filled by junior and college free agents. Michigan standout TJ Hughes leads the line there.
