I know it’s a cliche to be like “now we got a series.” But folks: we got a series. Florida’s overtime comeback win in Game Three was both fun to watch and strong evidence that this series won’t be one-sided. The Panthers get to host one more before we head back to Vegas. Let it be a good one.

I’ve been saying it for years, but Carter Verhaege is a killer. He scored the OTGWG on Thursday, but he was also the guy who dashed Washington’s playoff hopes in 2022 with another OTGWG. He’s one of the best finishers in the league, scoring 12 goals more than expected over the last two seasons, 49 actual goals on 37 expected goals, which is more than all but 18 forwards. On a $4 million contract, that’s a massive bargain. Killer.
