The Columbus Blue Jackets and Tampa Bay Lightning have been playing for so long. When they started, Joe Biden didn’t even have a running mate.
As Game One of the first-round game hit the fourth period of overtime, the NHL continued their bit of 10/10 empty-arena jokes with a seventh-inning stretch.
BTW, we’re calling it the August Epic.

This comes just nights after this deadly pun.
The NHL is absolutely killing this playoff tournament in a bubble.
It’s the fourth overtime. Up on the Jumbotron, they put “it’s time for the 7th period stretch”.
This, after “fan appreciation night” in the fan-less arena the other night..

This game is so long, the Canes-Bruins series opener has been pushed to Wednesday morning at 11 AM. Earlier, Columbus goalie Joonis Korpisalo broke the 1987 record for most saves in a single game.
