Before the start of the 2020 playoffs, John Carlson said that the Capitals will be “somewhat uniform” in what they wear despite the NHL not having a dress code. “I know we don’t have to. I think we’re going to try and stay somewhat presentable,” Carlson said then.
On Friday, before practice, the Capitals arrived at the rink wearing Capitals sweatsuits with Washington Nationals bucket hats. Many of the tags were still on the hats.

The Capitals and Nationals have long been supportive of each other from celebrating their championships at each other’s stadiums (Caps, Nats) to repping each other’s gear (Caps, Nats).
For those interested, the Nationals’ bucket hats are currently out of stock in the MLB Store possibly because the Capitals recently bought them all.
