Tuesday was a pretty great night for D.C. sports. After the Nats trolled Pittsburgh sports fans with Caps-themed ticket promotion, both Washington teams came out on top over teams from the Steel City. The Capitals, in a hard-fought Game Three of their second-round series against the Penguins, won 4-3 on a late Alex Ovechkin goal, while Bryce Harper and the Nationals rolled the Pirates, 12-4.
Many Nationals, including manager Davey Martinez, pitcher Max Scherzer, and Harper, proudly show their support for Capitals, going to games and wearing gear. That support was ratcheted up to 11 Tuesday.
“Got two big games tonight,” Martinez said during his pregame press conference. The Nats, supporting the Caps through their big game, wore Caps hats during batting practice.

Scherzer pitched six and a third innings, only allowing two earned runs. But the most passionate he got all night was after the game, wearing his “ALLCAPS” hat.
Max Scherzer fist pumped when he saw the Ovechkin goal, then wasn’t sure it went in, then saw the replay and yelled “Hell yeah!”

The Caps agreed with the ace’s reaction, as did many of us watching at home.

The Nationals themselves were keeping up to date with the happenings in PPG Paints Arena as well. The combined score showed just how well the night went for the D.C. faithful.
Washington Teams 16, Pittsburgh Teams 7.

MASN Nationals color analyst F.P. Santangelo, a noted Caps fan in his own right, even got into the action, sporting his own Caps hat during the broadcast.

Santangelo would tweet his satisfaction with the days events, saying what all of us thought of the evening of sporting events.
Today was a good day…..part 2 #OnePursuit #ALLCaps

I love being a D.C. sports fan, especially when our teams are supporting each other just as hard as we are.
