Alex Ovechkin is in the stands to watch the Penguins-Canadiens game

Alex Ovechkin had the night off. Instead of playing Fortnite, he decided to do some scouting.

Ovechkin ambled over to Scotiabank Arena to watch Game One of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Montreal Canadiens qualifying round series.

Ovechkin, wearing one of his Nike branded gaiter scarves, watched in what appears to be a suite area. Beside him was a half-drunken bottle of Coca Cola.

Being there is a good decision. The Capitals have played the Penguins in the second round of the playoffs three of the last four years, winning one of those series. The year they did win, 2018, they went on to win the Stanley Cup.

Update: According to the Penguins, Ovechkin was joined by the rest of his teammates to watch the game.
