Ryan Zimmerman is selling signed t-shirts to raise money for restaurant workers

World Series champion and part-time NHL goaltender, Ryan Zimmerman, is helping raise money for workers at The Salt Line, a popular resteraunt in DC.

Zimmerman, in conjunction with Budweiser, will be signing a limited number of This Bud’s from #11 t-shirts to raise money for employees impacted there.

“Hey, everybody,” Ryan Zimmerman said in a video. “We just wanted to drop you guys a quick note on what was supposed to be our very exciting home opener today.”

“We’ve been thinking about the community at the Navy Yard and our extended family at The Salt Line,” Heather Zimmerman, Ryan’s wife, added.

“We couldn’t be more honored to try and help out some people in a tough spot right now,” Zimmerman added. “Everybody needs to stay safe most importantly but stay positive and know when this is all over, we’ll all be together again.”

The autographed t-shirts are $50 each and the restaurant expects to mail them out over the next two weeks.

Along with the t-shirt, The Salt Line will also be providing a voucher redeemable for a free Budweiser at The Salt Line, and fans will be entered into a raffle to win a prize.

– A signed bottle of Ryan’s hand selected Single-Barrel Woodford Reserve ‘World Champion Select’
– A bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year Old
– A bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 12 Year Old
– A $500 happy hour tab in our outdoor bar space
– A chefs dinner for 4 to The Salt Line

If you want to increase your odds, or simply enter the raffle you can purchase additional entries for $25. Raffle will be held on 4/11/2020.

100% of the proceeds will go to our employee support fund – the entirety of the funds raised will be distributed to our staff. Additionally, The Salt Line ownership will make a matching contribution to all raffle purchases up to $25,000.

Zimmerman is an investor in Long Shot Hospitality, the company that owns the restaurant. The Salt Line is located across the street from Nationals Park.

“It makes sense because it’s right next to the stadium so there’s an obvious tie-in,” Zimmerman said to The Washington City Paper in 2017. “The area used to be pretty tough, but they’ve done a good job at making it more livable. To see it in 2008 when we first went there, and now to have hotels and nice restaurants, it’s a cool thing to be a part of.”

Zimmerman brought The Warren C. Giles Trophy and celebrated the Nationals’ NL championship series victory at the restaurant in October.

While promoting the t-shirts, Heather Zimmerman also promoted a few other programs to provide assistance to others during the quarantine.
