The Colorado Avalanche announced on Thursday that one of their players tested positive for COVID-19. It’s the third NHL player to end up contracting the virus.
“The player has been at home in isolation since the first symptoms appeared, has recovered and is back to normal,” the Avs said in a statement. “The Avalanche have notified anyone who has had known close contact with the athlete.”

The other two players to test positive for coronavirus play for the Ottawa Senators.
The Avalanche played the Sharks in San Jose on Sunday, March 8, a day after the Senators did.
Whoa, an Avalanche player tested positive for coronavirus after two Senators players tested positive? If only there were some kind of commonality or thread to connect these cases. Really, the possibilities are endless. pic.twitter.com/TjqECPVoRU
