COVID-19 has forced all the major sports leagues in North America to shut down and its athletes to shelter in place. During that time, however, the coronavirus pandemic has caused two major power couples from the Washington Capitals and Washington Nationals to collaborate together on social media: Braden Holtby and Bradi Holtby and Sean Doolittle and Eireann Dolan.
On Thursday, the Holtbys donated 25,000 meals to the hungry through the Capital Area Food Bank days after the Sean and Eireann did the same. “You guys are the best and we’re so lucky to share a sports city with you,” Doolittle said on Twitter.
The Nationals’ reliever also suggested a good idea to keep Braden sharp during the pause in his NHL season.
“Brandi, please tell Braden that if he wants to put the pads on, I can throw baseballs at him. That way we both get some practice,” Doolittle wrote on Twitter.
Hey @bbholtby please tell Braden that if he wants to put the pads on, I can throw baseballs at him. That way we both get some practice. 🤷🏼♂️⚾️🥅

Brandi thought Braden would be open to the idea because he’s quickly running out puzzles to complete.
Not a bad idea… he’s two puzzles down and we only have one more in the house 🧩🙈

The Doolittle/Holtby collaboration seems a bit more challenging than what this Quebec PW AAA Champion goaltender, who recently went viral, is doing to stay sharp.
Brandi and Eireann also teased a potential pet meetup between their pets.
It’s my birthday today. Might fuck around and walk my dogs in a circle around the parking lot. As a treat. 🎉🎉🎉🎉 pic.twitter.com/jy1cXz0Icg

The Holtbys have two turtles at home, one of which is named Honey.
It’s my birthday on Tuesday. Maybe I should celebrate the same with our tortoises. 🎈🐢🐢

I would definitely pay money to watch this pet interaction on PPV for the record.
Beyond donating money to charity, Doolittle has kept himself busy and tried to bring joy to his fans online. He’s also taken special care of Sophia.
Sophia constantly asking for pets is how I will be keeping busy during my downtime ♥️ pic.twitter.com/MLjSqOelSO

That’s fun and all but tossing some four-seam fastballs at Braden’s glove hand would be even better.
