Alex Ovechkin took to Instagram Saturday morning to share a message from Nike.
“If you ever dreamed of playing for millions around the world, now is your chance,” the graphic read. “Play inside, play for the world.” Ovechkin added the caption, “Now more than ever, we are one team. #playinside #playfortheworld”
The message is meant to inspire his Russian and English language followers to stay inside and practice social distancing as the coronavirus pandemic rages on across the world.
Ovechkin has been practicing what he’s preaching. Over the last week, Ovechkin’s wife Nastya has shared videos of how the family has spent its time since the NHL suspended its season nine days ago.
Ovechkin has taken to working out in his personal gym at home. Nastya captured Ovi on his treadmill bike.

The Ovechkins have also taken private walks around the neighborhood to get some fresh air.
During the times they have gone out, Nastya has worn a mask and gloves at the grocery store – which have not been well-stocked.
