TJ Oshie has a lot of pregame routines and superstitions, none weirder than the butt slashing he does with Tom Wilson during warmups.
“We’ve got some different things going depending on if we lost last game,” Oshie said. “If we won we’ll do the same thing. So there’s a little bit of superstition there depending on what we tap, how hard we tap it, and how we do it.”
Wednesday night against the Flyers, Oshie was celebrating his 800th career game in the NHL. Tom had a special, tushyrific way to commemorate the evening.

Like a parasite, Wilson followed Oshie around the ice and gave the Osh Babe rapid-fire butt taps. Oshie was giving the rest of his teammates butt taps himself, but could not shake Wilson from his hiny region.
The two right wings eventually went into their normal butt slash routine. Wilson got one from Oshie while Teej got 10 more from Whip before falling over.
Despite how much happiness the booty taps inspired, the added booty taps ultimate did not translate to a victory as the Capitals fell to the Flyers 5-2.
The Capitals did air a tribute video for Oshie during the game.
Oshie had three shots on goal and a hit in 17:56 of ice time.
Congratulations, TJ. (And I hope your buttocks are not too sore this morning.)
T.J. Oshie is playing in his 800th NHL game tonight against Philadelphia. Since joining the Capitals in 2015-16, Oshie has recorded 127 goals in 356 games to rank second on the Capitals (Alex Ovechkin: 228), which is tied for the 33rd most in the NHL during that span. pic.twitter.com/MeNPt6P1bo
