The newest owner of second place in this year’s Metropolitan Division comes to town on Wednesday in the form of the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers are rolling on a six-game win streak that the Caps hope to halt.

Peter here. I was crunching some numbers over on the RMNB patreon. I’ll write up more when I have time, but I think there are some interesting differences we’ve seen across the league when coaches have been fired. Like, check out these gaps in points percentages.

Obviously, not every coach firing is the same: Calgary and Dallas were for off-ice reasons, and Nashville’s new coach is just New Jersey’s old coach– which is probably the goof-up of the season if you ask me.
