Connor McMichael’s ridiculous season continues.
After winning gold with Team Canada at the World Junior Championship, the Capitals’ 2019 first-round pick returned to the OHL London Knights and has scored three hat tricks in the month of January – in only nine games.
McMichael now has six hat tricks total this season after scoring three times in London’s 7-4 victory over the Windsor Spitfires, Friday.
McMichael turned 19 on January 15.

The forward’s first goal was jaw-dropping. After taking a cross-ice pass, McMichael skated to the net, deked the puck behind his body, and beat the goaltender with a perfect snipe.

The Canadian center’s second goal came on a rebound in front of the net after he and a teammate initially failed to score on a two-on-one break.

McMichael scored his third goal after shooting the puck into an empty net.
Minutes before, he tallied his only assist on the night with a beautiful pass to Luke Evangelista.

@Capitals can we keep him

No, no you can’t.
Through 36 games this season, McMichael has 37 goals and 80 points, ranking him second and fourth respectively in the OHL.
