Jonas Siegenthaler receives comically long stick as Secret Santa gift

Jonas Siegenthaler is a big, big boy. The Swiss defenseman stands in at six-foot, three-inches, and recently showed off his snarl getting in his first NHL fight.

Someone must have had that in mind because Thursday, during practice, Siegenthaler revealed his Secret Santa gift.

Siegs was given a hockey stick that measures approximately 8,000 feet long.

The twig is a Bauer Nexus 2N Pro. A quick and not very thorough internet search reveals that the longest stick length available online is 63.5 inches, which appears to be a third of the size of this wretched thing.

Siegenthaler’s stick is so long, it would even be too big for man-giant Zdeno Chara.

I’m guessing there were a lot of laughs behind the scenes. If only we knew the joker was who gave him this.
