The NHL has a bug going around, and now it’s hit the defense of the Washington Capitals. The team announced Friday that defenders Michal Kempny and Radko Gudas will not skate this morning and will be game-time decisions for tonight’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
In case they cannot play, the team has called up defender Christian Djoos from the Hershey Bears.
From the Caps:

Djoos has not played an NHL game since Game Three of the Caps-Hurricanes series last year. He has three goals and 15 assists this season for the Bears, who will play in Utica tonight without him.

Two years ago Columbus coach John Tortorella once coached through the flu. Last week, Philadelphia defender Ivan Provorov played through the flu. I’m including this context to explicitly discourage everyone reading from working when sick with a very contagious disease. Thank you.
