Alex Ovechkin, Sergei the Elf, and Capitals players wish fans Merry Christmas

The Washington Capitals celebrated Christmas on Wednesday the same way we all did – with gifts, extravagant meals (that may or may not involve the President of the United States), and special holiday attire.

Here’s a look at how your favorite Capitals players (or Bears) celebrated the holiday.

Alex Ovechkin

After dining with the POTUS, Ovechkin spent the day at the beach on the Florida coast. Before taking the sand, Ovechkin, his wife Nastya, and baby Sergei — dressed as an elf — took a photo inside their condominium complex.

John Carlson

Capitals defenseman John Carlson shared a photo of his two sons, Lucca and Rudy, gathering by the Christmas tree. “Thankful for my family on this special day,” said Carlson.

Speedy Swede Carl Hagelin posted a photo from the Capitals’ final home game before the break where Garnet Hathaway, Jakub Vrana, Jonas Siegenthaler, and himself rock ugly holiday suits.

John Carlson chimed in with an inside joke after noticing that only Jakub Vrana was tagged in the photo.
