The Washington Capitals beat the Florida Panthers, and that’s fine, but you’re here to see children dressed up like turkeys and skating around like turkeys with their heads cut off, except cuter.
That’s precisely what happened during Tuesday’s intermission as the Caps brought back their beloved Thanksgiving tradition of trying and failing to get adolescents to feel embarrassed. They can’t. They’re immune. Gobble gobble.
The Caps teased the events with this short hype video.
More iconic than the parade in NYC – it's the TURKEY MITES! #ALLCAPS @AAAMidAtlantic pic.twitter.com/JDRcew1xvP

And then the kids hit the ice, as expertly narrated by PA announcer Wes Johnson.

After the on-ice action, there was an interview with one special turkey, Kara, who at once lamented being dressed as a turkey (“embarrassing because I don’t like to be turkey”) but also shouted “gobble gobble” into the mic. Which is it, Kara. Can’t have it both ways, Kara.
The action culminated in a montage of smiling children chanting “gobble gobble.”
