A cat videobombed Max Scherzer’s live MLB Network interview

MLB Network had Max Scherzer on its live show Wednesday. The Washington Nationals ace spoke about his successful 2019 season and finally winning the World Series for the first time.

During the segment, Max had an unexpected guest.

In the background of Scherzer’s shoot, a black cat can be seen walking by. It had a very expressive tail.

Having an animal wind up in a Scherzer interview should not be a surprise. Both Max and his wife Erica are passionate about animals.

The couple has four dogs together, two of which, Bo and Rocco, have the same eye condition that Max has.

Erica is also on the board of directors for the Humane Rescue Alliance. Max has shot a PSA for the non-profit in the past.

“Animals– and especially rescue animals– are an important part of our lives,” Max said. “My wife Erica and I are proud to work with the Humane Rescue Alliance to help find homes for the dogs and cats that so desperately need them. Taping this PSA with Glee was a lot of fun, and we’re especially ecstatic that Glee has since found her forever home here in the city.”

In 2017, the couple paid adoption fees for animals displaced by Hurricane Harvey.
