The Washington Capitals play six games over the next nine days – one of the busiest stretches of the 2019-20 season.
Sunday, before things get insanely busy, the Ovechkins declared that it was a family day. Alex Ovechkin, Nastya Ovechkina, and son Sergei went to an indoor playground. Dmitry Orlov’s wife Varvara joined in along on the fun.

Beyond Mom and Dad, Sergei seemed to be most in love with a green and yellow balloon he received at the play place. While Dad hid in an underground tunnel, Sergei threw one of his balloons at him. Then – an ingenious solution! He can get to Dad if he runs around the hill and goes in the tunnel too from the top.
Sergei rode down a slide with Varvara and just generally ran around because when you’re this tiny, the world is so new and fun.
At the end of their time there, the Ovechkins took a family photo.
