During Saturday night’s beatdown of the Vegas Golden Knights, many of you might’ve noticed a familiar face in the crowd.
Kelley O’Hara of the World Cup-winning US Women’s National Soccer Team was in attendance at the Capitals-Golden Knights game and is now officially a Capitals fan.

O’Hara chugged a Bud Light when shown on the jumbotron.
According to the Capitals, O’Hara, an Atlanta native, grew up a Thrashers fan.
O’Hara plays for the NWSL’s Utah Royals when in season, and is in the District because her partner recently moved to the area.
Currently, she isn’t traveling with the USWNT due to an ankle injury she is recovering from.
Here’s what you need to know about the Caps’ newest fan:
- She plays a smash-mouth style defense that has only one speed: absolute full send.

- She’s from Atlanta, Georgia, and is a huge Braves fan (RIP Thrashers, though).
🏆 *clears throat* THE @USWNT WORLD CUP CHAMPIONS ARE IN THE HOUSE! 🏆@MalPugh, @kelleymohara & @emilysonnett perfectly delivered tonight's ceremonial first pitch presented by @Delta! #OneNationOneTeam pic.twitter.com/GP10syCdXl

- She’s won not one, but two World Cups. In fact, she scored this absolutely crucial goal against Germany in 2015 World Cup semifinals.
- She was named to the FIFpro best XI as one of the best soccer players in the world, along with USWNT teammates Megan Rapinoe, Rose Lavelle, Alex Morgan, and Julie Ertz.
- She parties like a champion and could probably hang with the Caps and the Nats. See: her running into the crowd to grab a Coors from a fan during the USWNT championship parade down the Canyon of Heroes in NYC. A true woman of the people.
- She’s one of the featured athletes for ESPN’s Body Issue with, what else, a beer in hand.
Welcome aboard, Kelley! We’re glad to include you and Ali Krieger in our ranks.
