Tom Wilson is the only player in the NHL right now with a powerplay goal, shorthanded goal, and an OTGWG

Coming into Saturday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights, head coach Todd Reirden opened up about Tom Wilson’s importance to the team. “There’s no secret how valuable he is and how our team can have success with him,” Reirden said. “He’s used in all possible situations on our team and he’s a valuable asset that we want to have on the ice to help us.”

Wilson scored his eighth goal of the season later that night.

Tom’s tally spurred a fancy fact from the NBC Sports Washington stats department.

Wilson scored after taking a pass from Jakub Vrana. He slid the puck low on the ice to beat Marc-Andre Fleury.

Afterward, NBC Sports Washington revealed that Wilson is the only player in the NHL with a shorthanded goal, a powerplay goal, and an overtime game-winning goal.

Wilson has four goals in his last four games and is on pace for 36 goals this season by the way.
